I painted Anabella with something very specific in mind: the mysterious, almost hypnotic power of Baroque women, but seen through my own Expressionist language.

Her blue eyes were the first thing I fell in love with. They have that otherworldly intensity that reminded me of Dune: beautiful, strange, and impossible to look away from. I wanted her to feel both delicate and powerful, surrounded by deep shadows, vivid neon red and expressive layers of paint. She doesn't need to say anything. Her eyes do the talking.
