I painted this piece to capture the warmth of the Swiss plateau just before harvest. I wanted to translate the feeling of the sun-baked "Mittelland" into abstract form, using layers of sand, gold, and pale citrus. For me, that sweeping horizontal gesture across the center is the rhythm of the wind moving through wheat fields—a sense of quiet drift and the "luminous" heat of a late summer afternoon in Switzerland. It’s an invitation to slow down and feel the sun on your skin.
