This painting is a memory of a small bird that flew into my window. I found it lying on the balcony, very tiny and trembling. I held it in my hand for a few minutes, thinking it needed help; otherwise, it might never fly again. To my surprise, the little bird suddenly flew away.
However, this painting can also be interpreted symbolically, from the perspective of the captured bird and its female owner, who is herself trapped in a golden cage. She is depicted pushing against the wall or curtain, as if trying to escape through it.
The name of the painting is inspired by my favorite movie, Three Thousand Years of Longing, which beautifully explores the timeless yearning to be loved and free.
