In A Whale in the Alps, I created a playful abstract composition that feels like an aerial map of an imaginary journey. I grounded the piece in sandy terracotta tones, framing it with a soft rose perimeter that holds together floating pathways, mountains, and compass marks.

Near the center, a large, curious form with a single watchful eye emerged as I painted—looking remarkably like an abstract whale navigating high-altitude peaks. Building up the surface with translucent acrylic glazes and textured impasto, I brought together structured symbols, including my signature pink and yellow Swiss cross, with spontaneous, organic energy.
