I built this piece through numerous dynamic layers, combining thick, sculptural impasto brushwork with soft, watery glazes, to create a tactile, three dimensional depth. I used cool, pale blues and subtle pink tones across the face to provide a striking contrast against the glowing oranges and ochres, giving her a gaze full of hope and emotional depth.
Through this visible texture, I invite you to experience the painting not just visually, but physically, observing the raw movement of my palette knife and expressive brushstrokes.
